A laugh for ridiculously over-educated people

I've just posted a little piece on politics at CCblogs, along with a hilarious video that will amuse all philosophy majors and other ridiculously over-educated people.

I know, I'm making you click to see it. I apologize. I admit I do want you to check out CCblogs, the blogging community I began with Christian Century. If you have comments or can provide links to other humorous political ads, leave them there and we'll try to engage some new people in our conversation.

i don't think religious figures should propogate their viewpoint from the pulpit. i do, however, think you have the right as an American citizen to state your views on anything. in this case, i would hope Christians would use the words and ideals of their leader to decide who is the most moral in standards. i have my own opinion as to who this would be. i hope the leadings of your church lead others to the same, younger, path.

Hugh, Yeah, I would never

Hugh,

Yeah, I would never endorse a candidate from my position as a minister. I'm even uncomfortable talking about it in a setting where I might alienate someone in the congregation. I am voting for Barack Obama. I'm free to say that, and it is appropriate in this setting. Like you said, all citizens have the right to choose and proclaim their opinion.

Just not from the pulpit.

The place where the video

The place where the video should have been was replaced by a white box with a red X in it. Unsure why. I feel so alone being so highly educated and yet unable to figure out how to see the video.

Strange. It was working last night. I replaced the embed code, copies directly from youtube yesterday with what seems to be the same code copied today. It works now. Who knows what happened.

I appreciate that video a lot. The sad thing is if you understand the video you aren't who the politicians are talking to since you are over educated no longer Middle America types. I think it is fine to talk moral issue from the pulpit even if it touches on politics. War, hunger, poverty, how we treat each other in community all are very much religious topics.

Bwa ha hah ha!!! :) Thanks
